Gender Facilitators Training under the Behaviour Change for Gender Equality Project

Behaviour Change for Gender Equality Project (BCGE)

Gender Facilitators Training under the Behaviour Change for Gender Equality Project
A two-day Gender Facilitators Training was successfully conducted at the Gadhi Rural Municipality Hall under the Behaviour Change for Gender Equality Project. The program was organized by Forum for Rural Women Ardency Development (FORWARD) with financial support from Tearfund and coordination from Gadhi Rural Municipality. The training aimed to strengthen the knowledge, facilitation skills, and capacity of gender facilitators to effectively promote gender equality and positive social norms within their communities. Participants were introduced to key concepts of gender, social inclusion, gender-based discrimination, power relations, and behavior change approaches necessary for community-level engagement. Through participatory learning methods, group discussions, practical exercises, presentations, and experience-sharing sessions, participants enhanced their understanding of gender issues and developed skills to facilitate awareness and behavior change activities. The training emphasized the importance of creating inclusive environments where women, men, girls, and boys can equally participate in social, economic, and community development processes. The trained facilitators are expected to serve as local resource persons and support community-level initiatives that contribute to reducing gender inequalities, promoting respectful relationships, and advancing gender-transformative practices within Gadhi Rural Municipality and surrounding communities.
