Program Chairperson Bhagbati Chaudhary stated that the campaign’s objectives cannot be achieved unless policies and laws designed to ensure children’s rights are effectively implemented. “Ending child marriage cannot be achieved through declarations alone. Laws, policies, and strategies formulated at the local level must be put into practice. Investing in children means investing in the nation’s future; therefore, commitment at every level is essential,” Chaudhary said. She emphasized that community-level awareness, legal enforcement, and institutional collaboration should be prioritized to make the Child Marriage-Free Nepal Campaign effective. Executive Director Drabya Raj Chaudhary stated that FORWARD has worked in the field of women’s and children’s empowerment for many years and will continue these efforts in the future. National Child Rights Council Provincial Coordination Officer Suman Adhikari said the workshop, which began on Baisakh 10 and concludes on Baisakh 11, is expected to further strengthen local governments’ commitment to protecting children’s rights and ending child marriage in Koshi Province.
