Behavior Change for Gender Equality (BCGE)

The Behavior Change for Gender Equality (BCGE) Project has been implemented by Forum for Rural Women Ardency Development (FORWARD) in partnership with Tearfund in Gadhi Rural Municipality, Sunsari, since February 2025. The project promotes personal and community-level transformation to advance gender equality and prevent sexual and gender-based violence. Through structured Community Dialogue sessions, women and men examine harmful gender norms, unequal roles, domestic responsibilities and violence while developing healthier and more respectful behaviours. Major activities include forming and facilitating separate dialogue groups for women and men, training gender facilitators and community leaders, coordinating sexual and gender-based violence cases, strengthening facilitator networks, conducting monitoring and reflection meetings, and collaborating with local government and other stakeholders. The project particularly promotes women’s leadership, shared household responsibilities, community awareness and safer, more inclusive communities.
