Initiatives for Shared Prosperity in the Koshi River Basin in Nepal (ISPKN)
The Initiatives for Shared Prosperity in the Koshi River Basin in Nepal (ISPKN) project is implemented by Forum for Rural Women Ardency Development (FORWARD) with technical support from dZi Foundation Nepal and coordination with Gadhi Rural Municipality. The project works primarily in Wards 2 and 5 of Gadhi Rural Municipality, Sunsari. The project expands access to essential services, creates income-generating opportunities and strengthens local leadership and community resilience. Major activities include integrated mobile service camps, capacity-building and vocational training, group formation, business-plan development, microenterprise establishment and demonstration plots. The reported activities recorded 812 participants, including 598 women and 214 men. The project promotes women’s leadership and the meaningful participation of Dalit, Janajati, Madhesi, persons with disabilities, single women and economically vulnerable households. Coordination with local authorities also enabled eligible entrepreneurs to register their businesses without local registration fees.
